River Oaks Country Club

The Spirit of Hope Luncheon benefiting Ronald McDonald House Houston honors and celebrates the contributions of generous corporate volunteer groups who share a special long-term relationship with the House. The dollars we raise during this important event will support our program operations as we increase the number of rooms by 40% and continue to serve all of the families in need of our services each day. In this inaugural year, our biennial fundraising committee adopted the Spirit of Hope theme, a credit to the Southwest Airlines airplane plane which pays tribute to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Honoring Southwest Airlines

We are honored to announce Southwest Airlines as the inaugural Spirit of Hope Award recipient. This recognition is particularly fitting, as the company has supported Ronald McDonald House Houston since its inception in 1981. Ever since, Southwest Airlines has supported our mission with their time and resources on a monthly basis. The keynote speaker, Dr. William H. Cunningham, clearly understands the significant impact of community engagement as a member of Southwest Airlines’ Board of Directors and former Chancellor of the University of Texas System. Our gratitude for the contributions of Southwest Airlines will forever be reflected in the luncheon title and award name, as adopted from their Spirit of Hope airplane which illustrates their commitment in the sky. Southwest’s enthusiastic team serves our families by serving heart-warming meals, hosting dance parties for the kids, and through ongoing partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities global.
