GROUP VOLUNTEERS

group volunteers hands holding heart graphicIt Takes Many Hands to Create a Home Away From Home!

Since Ronald McDonald House Houston first opened in 1981, Houston and the surrounding communities have supported RMH Houston in a variety of ways such as providing comforting food, creating engaging and fun activities and even giving compassionate hugs. From meals, activities and gift card drives to corporate events or sponsored field trips, so many have joined together to create hope every day for families with seriously ill children.

The two main ways to help with your group or organization are Family Meals and Family Activities.

The Family Meal Program is how groups of volunteers provide and serve meals with love and compassion. After a long day at the hospital, sitting down to a warm meal with your family is a moment of peace and comfort for families at RMH Houston.

Family Activities allow groups of volunteers to provide a service or activity at one of our Houses within the Texas Medical Center. Activities and events provide a much-needed lift to our House and our families. Quality entertainment helps alleviate stress, gives the opportunity of quality time spent together that is not focused on health issues, and stimulates positive, hopeful feelings. Family Activities are often enjoyed by all members of the patient’s family as a welcome distraction.
