Individual Volunteer Opportunities We have a variety of volunteer opportunities and time commitments available at Ronald McDonald House Houston with volunteer shifts available seven days a week 365 days a year. RMH Houston asks that all shift volunteers be at least 18 years old and work a total of six hours per month. Volunteer shifts are typically scheduled in three-hour time blocks.  RMH Houston at Holcombe House VolunteersWelcome Office Volunteers and Registration Volunteers greet and register families, explain House policies, answer the phones, check out amenities to families, give tours and assist with other porjects and activities. Bilingual volunteers are especially needed to communicate with our Spanish-speaking families. RMH Houston at Texas Children's Hospital House VolunteersVolunteers work in the 20-bedroom House and support families whose children are being treated in the Intensive Care areas of the hospital. They help keep the House clean, neat, organized and stocked, check families in and out of the bedrooms, bake cookies, visit with parents, and assist with other projects and activities. Family Room Volunteers support the patients and families in the Oncology/Hematology Inpatient Floor, Outpatient Cancer Clinic, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, and Pavilion for Women. They help keep the Family Rooms clean, neat, organized and stocked, visit with parents and assist with other projects and activities. RMH Houston at Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital VolunteersVolunteers work in the 14-bedroom House and Family Room and support families whose children are being treated in the Intensive Care areas of the hospital. They help keep the House neat, organized and stocked, check families in and out of the bedrooms, bake cookies, visit with parents, and assist with other projects and activities.
